Why Electrify?
There are so many reasons to go electric!
Right now, nearly one-quarter of climate-changing pollution in Silicon Valley comes from natural gas used in our homes and buildings.
Mountain View has access to clean, renewable electricity from Silicon Valley Clean Energy, a community-owned public agency. All Mountain View residents are automatically enrolled in 100% carbon-free energy through this program with the option to upgrade to 100% renewable energy.
By making your home 100% electric, you are eliminating carbon emissions from your home's energy use.
Health and safety are also important factors in choosing electric appliances. Gas stoves release harmful pollutants in homes such as nitrogen dioxide, formaldehyde, and ultra-fine particulates. Induction cooktops are an energy-efficient, easy-to-use, and non-polluting alternative to gas stoves.
Finally, you can save money on your utility bills by switching to efficient, electric appliances. The platform also shows you federal, state, and local rebates and incentives that are available for electric upgrades!
How much does it cost to use?
The platform is free to use for all Mountain View residents, as well as people who work in Mountain View.
How do I sign up for an account?
