March 2026 Updated Draft Plan Now Available
The City of Mountain View is pleased to share the updated draft Parks and Recreation Strategic Plan, now available for public review.
Since the release of the initial draft in November 2025, staff have incorporated feedback from the Parks and Recreation Commission (PRC), City Council, and community members.
Key updates of this draft include:
Addition of a new goal focused on biodiversity and natural park design elements and incorporated the importance of parks as part of the natural environment throughout the Plan
Refinement of the Plan’s vision statement
Allocation of trail corridor acreage by Planning Area, resulting in updated level-of-service calculations
Targeted additions and refinements to the Action Plan, including Learn-to-Swim opportunities, Friends of Parks exploration, and review of POPA standards

This version includes all updated content, including goals, strategies, analysis, and the Action Plan. Graphic design, layout enhancements, and visual formatting will be incorporated prior to final adoption.
