Thank You & More Ways to Shape Public Art in Mountain View!
Thank you for your participation!
Thank you to everyone who visited us at Monster Bash and Día de Muertos as part of the City of Mountain View’s Public Art Strategy community engagement tour. We had great turnout across both events, including:
- 60+ surveys completed
- Continuous activity at the Inflatable/ART station and vision board exercise
- Meaningful contributions to the Community Altar at Día de Muertos
Your input is helping shape the next decade of public art in Mountain View.
Community Engagement Snapshot
Community engagement has included pop-ups, workshops, online participation, and youth outreach. Here’s a snapshot:
- 415 pop-up event engagements
- 273 survey responses
- 24 community workshop participants
Survey highlights to date:
- Top art types: murals, functional art, interactive/kinetic art
- Top locations: Downtown, parks and trails, Civic Center Plaza
- op roles of art: bringing whimsy and delight, enriching daily life, supporting the local arts community
The vision board activity showed strong interest in light art, gateways, and functional art (such as artistic benches, bike racks, and infrastructure). These preferences are helping identify priority directions for the strategy.
How Your Feedback Shapes the Strategy:
Input gathered so far will be combined with the Visual Arts Committee’s vision, stakeholder interviews, and best practices to refine the Strategy’s goals, priorities, and recommended action items. Community values, practical considerations, and VAC guidance will all inform the final Public Art Strategy.
