WELCOME TO THOMPSON MINI PARK PROJECT

The City of Mountain View is excited to kick-off a new park project: Thompson Mini Park. Through careful acquisition and planning, the City is now initiating efforts to develop a new 0.43 -acre park in the Monta Loma neighborhood.

The goal is to provide additional park and open space and desired park amenities for the neighborhood and everyday park use.

PROJECT BACKGROUND

Recognizing the need to add more parks in the Monta Loma neighborhood, the City Council approved the acquisition of properties at 538 Thompson Avenue (November 15, 2022) and 2231 West Middlefield Road (June 11, 2024) for the future development of a new 0.43-acre park. The Thompson Mini Park project was subsequently included in the Fiscal Year 2025–26 Capital Improvement Program.

The park design will be guided by community engagement, through various public meetings, with the goal of providing desired amenities and enhancing neighborhood open space.

The location of the project is shown in the map below.
