CITY OF MOUNTAIN VIEW HUMAN RELATIONS COMMISSION (HRC) “I AM MV” STORYTELLING PROJECT RELEASE AGREEMENT
Release of Rights:
As a condition of my participation in the “I AM MV” Storytelling Project (“Project”) and by and through my submission of artwork, a visual art piece, poem, or other written work (“Work”) for use in the Project, I grant and assign to the City of Mountain View and its officials, employees, contractors, successors, and assigns the following rights in connection with my Work for use as part of the Project or any advertising, packaging, marketing or promotional materials for the Project, in perpetuity:
- The right to use, reproduce, display, perform, adapt, modify, create derivative works from, distribute, have distributed, promote, retain, or dispose of, in any way now known or in the future discovered, any Work I submit.
- The right to use and publish my name and any image, likeness, or biographical data I provide in connection with the Project in any and all publications, including web-based publications and social media platforms.
- The right to develop, produce, distribute, advertise, promote, or otherwise exploit the Project in any manner that the City deems appropriate.
By submitting my Work, I represent and warrant that the Work I have submitted is my original creation and does not infringe on the intellectual property rights of any third party. I further understand and agree that by submitting my Work, I am waiving any moral rights or right to attribution I may have in the Work.
By submitting my Work, I further understand and acknowledge that the City will be the sole owner of all copyright and other rights in and to the Human Relations Commission “I Am MV” Storytelling Project and any content used therein, that all submitted Work will be the property of the City, and that I will receive no compensation for use of the Work or my image, likeness, name or biographical data.
Submission Guidelines:
All submitted Works must adhere to the following content guidelines. Works that fail to comply with these guidelines will not be accepted for submission:
- Appropriateness: Submissions must be appropriate for a public audience, containing no explicit sexual content, graphic violence, or depictions of illegal activities.
- Non-offensive Material: Works must not contain offensive material, including but not limited to hate speech, discriminatory remarks, or content that promotes intolerance or harm against any group or individual based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or any other characteristic.
- Originality: All submissions must be the original work of the submitting artist and not previously published, awarded in any other competition, or infringe upon the rights of any third party.
- Decency: Content should uphold a standard of decency and respect for diverse audiences. Avoid controversial or sensitive subjects unless handled in a respectful and thoughtful manner.
We reserve the right to reject any submission deemed unsuitable or inappropriate. Works containing anything that expresses harm to any individuals or groups will be automatically rejected and/or removed from the Project site.
